Blind Melon’s “No Rain” – The Dancing Bee We Love To Remember

The dancing bee is a sight that was inescapable during the early ’90s. Blind Melon’s hit “No Rain” was a song about not being able to get out of bed and face the day that everyone could relate to, making the girl in a bee costume one of MTV’s most timeless images.

“No Rain” from American rockers Blind Melon was a massive hit in 1993, with its music video becoming an MTV favorite. The soft rock classic went multi-platinum rewarding with its fast tempo and fun lyrics that made a lot of sense no matter how you interpreted them.

The girl tap dancing in the bee costume is named Heather DeLoach and can be seen all grown up in Weird Al Yankovic’s song “Bedrock Anthem.”

The happy track is sure to brighten your day, while at the same time conjuring up unmistakable ’90s nostalgia. It’s a good song with great vocals and a feeling that never stops being fun. Bassist Brad Smith wrote the most of it, but the band made it great.
