British Stars Honor VE Day With Inspirational “We’ll Meet Again” Rendition

One of the most common ways to celebrate a holiday is by singing songs. For America, there are tunes likes “America the Beautiful” to celebrate patriotism, while Britain has “We’ll Meet Again.” To honor VE Day, a variety of U.K. celebs perform a cover of the classic song.

Opera singer Katherine Jenkins wanted to do her part in bringing the nation together. She chose “We’ll Meet Again” by Dame Vera Lynn as the song of choice. As the 75th anniversary of VE day approached, Jenkins herself and some of her famous friends made a special project.

Singing the song of hope were stars like Shane Richie, Emma Barton, Beverly Knight, and even some of your favorite Bake-Off contestants. The song of hope is the perfect soundtrack as we see Jenkins in front of Kensington Palace.

We then get a glimpse of nurses, school children, farmers, and more. It’s a warming gesture of thanks to veterans and brings honor to those who have paid the ultimate price. We can’t get enough of the warmth this rendition brings to us.
