Graham Norton stuns Michael Flatley with impromptu Irish dance

This set-up is amazing! Graham Norton plants Irish dancers in the audience to impress Michael Flatley, the Riverdancer known as the Lord of the Dance.

The Graham Norton Show is one of the UK’s most popular talk shows. There are always amazing guests, but this time, the guest Graham is interviewing is the Lord of the Dance himself.

Michael Flatley made a name for himself doing a type of dance that most refer to as Riverdance. It’s a specific type of Irish line dancing that requires specific Irish dancing shoes. It’s a very distinctive style, and Flatley was always at the helm during these popular performances.

During the interview, Norton quickly turns to ask the audience about whether they can pretend to do Irish dance, to prove his humorous point that you can look like you know what you’re doing even when you don’t.

The audience members he picks have no idea what to do, but that’s when the reveal happens. The entire row next to them is a professional dance company that is ready to perform an Irish dance on cue.

As they move, it looks like their legs are completely separate from their bodies, as their arms, torsos, and heads barely move as they do the complicated footwork. Needless to say, Michael Flatley is impressed!
